PHYSICIAN PROFILE

Dr. Rafael Sierra is a General surgeon with advanced Laparoscopic, Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery Training. He obtained his medical degree at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and did an internship at Tel Aviv University Sheba Medical Center. He spent two years at Tulane University doing research in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He completed his General Surgery residency at Tulane in 2010.

Since then he has continued to stay at the front of advanced minimally invasive surgery, including robotic surgery. In 2011 he was one of the first 200 surgeons trained in robotic single incision cholecystectomy and has performed more than 400 of these procedures.

Dr. Sierra's goal is to provide his patients with the best available surgical options for their particular problem along with compassionate care.
